Improving IAQ Through the Use of Energy Efficient, 100% Outside Air Heating and Cooling Technologies IN High Bay Buildings

As “Energy Efficiency” continues to drive the conversation about how heating, ventilate and air condition buildings of all types we have to focus more on those HVAC technologies that we utilize to heat and cool the places where we work. This presentation explores two types of technologies…. a class of make up air technology established by the Department of Energy called High Temperature Heating and Ventilation (HTHV) and direct and indirect evaporative cooling. The presentation will discuss the energy efficiency characteristics and the IAQ benefits of both technologies and how they are applied in a variety of different high-bay applications.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe technologies available that are some of the most energy efficient ways to heat and temper cool facilities throughout the U.S. that use 100% outside air to improve IAQ
  2. Discuss how improved IAQ can have positive effects on worker productivity
  3. Identify building types that can use 100% outside air technologies to improve IAQ
  4. Illustrate how the use of energy efficient HVAC technologies can reduce the carbon footprint of industrial buildings.
