In this one-hour course, participants will discover the many benefits and applications of natural slate as cladding. Participants will be demonstrated proper detailing and installation as well as various case studies to better inform them on selecting the right manufacturer for their slate cladding specification.

Explain how natural slate is produced, all the way from the quarry to a safe and durable installation
Identify slate quality and detect potential problems that can be properly solved to ensure the safety of both occupants and installers
Discuss how a properly specified ventilated façade system with natural slate can reduce moisture and air intrusion and therefore reduce potential health risks to the occupants
Analyze the efficiency and sustainability factors of slate façade cladding including how they can be used in photovoltaic applications
